Create an account and sign in

Make a Nigraan account, choose the right role, sign in and out, and reset a forgotten password.

For: Everyone

You need an account only to add to Nigraan, for example to report a hazard or list a relief camp, or to work as staff. Reading the guides and the maps needs no account.

Create an account

  1. Click Sign up in the top bar.
  2. Enter your Full name, Email and a Password.
  3. Choose your Role. Choose Public — General user unless the Nigraan team has asked you to take a staff role.
  4. Click the button to create your account.
  5. If Nigraan asks you to confirm your email, open the message it sends you, follow the link, and then sign in.

Which role?

Role Who it is for
Public Anyone who wants to report hazards, list relief camps and earn badges.
Validator Reviewers who check reports and badge requests before they go public.
Partner NGOs and government partners who upload datasets.
Institutional Institutions and agencies working with the data.
Donor Funding partners: a read-only reporting dashboard.
Administrator People who run Nigraan. Creating an administrator account also needs a secret key from an existing administrator.

An administrator can change your role later. Badges are only for Public accounts.

Sign in and out

  1. Click Sign in in the top bar.
  2. Enter your email and password, and click Sign in.

If you clicked Report a Hazard before signing in, the reporting form opens by itself once you are in.

To sign out, click Sign out in the top bar.

Forgot your password?

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?
  2. Enter your email address. Nigraan shows the same message whether or not an account exists, so nobody can use the form to find out who has an account.
  3. Open the email and follow the link. Links work once and expire quickly, so use it soon. If it has expired, request another.
  4. Choose a new password and save it. You are signed out; sign in again with the new password.

Nobody at Nigraan can see or tell you your password. If the reset email does not arrive, check your spam folder.
