Report a hazard

Send a report of a flood, fire, landslide or other hazard, with an optional photo or voice note, and what happens to it after you send it.

For: Public users

Anyone with an account can report a hazard. Every report goes to a reviewer first, and appears on the public map only once it is approved.

Send a report

  1. Click Report a Hazard. It is in the top bar on every page, and beside the homepage maps. If you are not signed in, Nigraan asks you to sign in and then brings you back to the form.

  2. Under What are you submitting?, keep Hazard report selected.

  3. Fill in the form:

    Field What to enter
Location name (required) The place, as people would name it, e.g. "Sukkur, Sindh".
Hazard type (required) Pick from the list: Flood, Earthquake, Fire, Landslide, Cyclone / Storm, Heatwave, Drought, Disease Outbreak, House Collapse, Lightning, Electrocution, Tree Fall or Other.
City / District and Province Help reviewers and the map's place filters.
Latitude and Longitude The exact point, inside Pakistan. A reviewer can only put a report on the map if it has coordinates, so add them whenever you can.
Description What you see: how bad it is, who is affected, when it started.
Photo (optional) One picture of the hazard.
Voice note (optional) Click Record voice, speak, then Stop. Useful if typing is hard.
  4. Click Add record.

You will see Submitted for review. It appears on the map once an administrator approves it.

Is someone in danger right now? Call Rescue 1122 first. A report on Nigraan is checked by a person before it is published, so it is not an emergency call.

What happens next

  1. Your report joins the review queue. It is not public yet.
  2. A reviewer checks it. They may compare it with other reports of the same incident and link them together.
  3. If it is approved, it appears on the homepage map and in the data, with a Source line crediting it to a Public user. Your name is not shown publicly.
  4. If it is not approved, it stays off the public map. It is kept rather than deleted, together with any reason the reviewer gave.
