Earn a relief camp badge and read your notifications

How public users earn bronze, silver, gold and platinum badges for listing relief camps, where the badge shows, and how the notification bell works.

For: Public users

Public users earn a badge for listing relief camps that reviewers approve. The badge shows next to you across Nigraan, as thanks and as a sign that your listings can be trusted.

The four badges

Badge Approved relief camps
Bronze 3
Silver 6
Gold 9
Platinum 12

Only approved camps count. A camp that a reviewer links as a duplicate of another report does not count. Badges are for Public accounts only; staff accounts do not earn them.

How you get one

  1. List relief camps (see List a relief camp or aid point).
  2. When enough of them are approved for your next badge, Nigraan asks a validator to check them.
  3. The validator looks at each camp and approves your badge, or declines it with a reason.
  4. Either way, you get a notification.

An administrator can also award a badge directly, whatever your number of camps.

See your progress

Open the Relief camp badges page: click My badge in the top bar, or go to /badges. It shows your current badge, how many approved camps you have, and how many more you need for the next one. If a validator is already checking your camps, it says so.

Where your badge shows

Once you have a badge, it appears beside you in the top bar and on the Source line of your reports: on the map, in the data table and in downloaded PDFs. Public users are never named publicly: your reports say Public user, with your badge beside it.

Notifications

When you are signed in, a bell in the top bar shows your notifications. A number on the bell counts the ones you have not read.

Validators and administrators also get a notification each time someone's camps qualify for a badge. See Review badge requests.
