What is on the Nigraan website, how to move around it, and how to switch between English and Urdu.
For: Everyone
Nigraan is a free disaster preparedness and reporting website for Pakistan. You can read safety guidance, see what is happening on a live map and find emergency numbers without creating an account.
In an emergency, call Rescue 1122 (or Police 15). Nigraan helps you prepare and stay informed; it does not send help.
The homepage is the Virtual Preparedness Centre. Scroll down, or use the menu at the top, to reach each part:
| Menu item | What you find there |
|---|---|
| Hazards | Guides for 13 hazards, from floods and heatwaves to earthquakes. Type in the search box to find one. See Read a hazard guide. |
| Make a Plan | A few decisions to make with your household before a disaster. |
| Build a Kit | What to pack so every member of your household can manage for several days. |
| Emergency Contacts | Rescue 1122, Police 15, Edhi 115, the Fire Brigade (16) and the official agencies that issue warnings. |
| Help | This Help Center. |
Further down the homepage are the live hazard and relief maps. See Use the live hazard and relief maps.
Staff accounts also see Data in the menu, which opens the full data table. See Use the Data page.
The Report a Grievance form, in the top bar, is not connected yet: it does not send your complaint anywhere, and it says so on the form. Until it is, email info@codeforpakistan.org.
The website works in a phone's browser too. Menu items that do not fit in the top bar move behind the menu button. A Nigraan mobile app is on its way; its guide will appear in this Help Center.
